Knows about the Electrical Safety Precautions for Your Workplace

Today, all workplace or office system operates based on electrical energy. Different apparatus, from pc to machinery could be all dangerous and it might cause shock or burn injuries if it is improperly maintained or used.

 So, it is very important to monitor different precautions and practices to avoid electrical threats. Some of the safety precautions are:

1.   Avoid all possible contact with the live current

The best way to keep safe is not to come close to the current higher than 50 volts. All the panel doors in your workplace must be shut & there should not be exposed wire.

2.   Shut down the electrical power

Before starting any electrical work, you should shut down the power from the main switchboard.

3.   Regularly inspect plugs and cords

You should regularly inspect all the power cords for damages, cracks, etc. Always replace all the damaged cords and do not use extension cords as permanent solutions.

4.   Use suitable wattage

Always ensure all the fuses & light bulbs are of the suitable wattage for electrical appliances. Higher wattage might cause overheating as well as fire hazards.

5.   Keep away from flammable materials

You should keep a distance between electrical devices and flammable materials such as papers, curtains, furniture, etc to avoid fire hazards.

6.   Install suitable physical barriers around the electrical risks

Physical barriers must be used to prevent risks and to keep employees safe. Always closed the cabinet doors on panel boards & it must not have any holes where people might come in contact.

7.   Hire an experienced and qualified electrician

For any type of installation, repairs, and modification always hire a professional and experienced electrician to make sure that work is safely done and with all codes and regulations.
